Do African Dwarf Frogs molt?

I've got a little larger ADF..two actually, but I can only find one. His skin looks like it's peeling? You know how it looks when you have a sunburn and your skin peels? His skin looks like that.

Is something wrong with him? He SEEMS fine..rather active, actually. But it just looks like he's peeling.

Actually, ive never heard of them molting... maybe just a bit of loose skin? if not, i'd watch him (not much you can do if u dont know what it is )

Yes, ADF's shed their skin periodically. However, they usually do it all at once, not in pieces. Then they eat it.

If your frog looks like it is peeling in various places and seems ashy looking, google chytrid fungus, or look it up here in a search.

I read that site....this doesn't appear to be what my frog has. I am trying to study him a little more closesly....it just looks like his underside is peeling. No blood, no sign of stress. I guess time will tell.

Great!! I'm sure he'll be fine. It's kinda neat watching them shed. Mine do it from back to front, and then use their front feet to pull the skin off completely.

The not so neat part is watching them actually eat it. Yuk!!

My frog did that last week too. I thought it was really gross when I saw the loose skin on him, and thought he was either sick, or covered in algae or something. I actually tried to pick it off with a net, but he swam away and hid for a while. He seems to be doing fine now though.

The first time my frog shed i thought "aww man it's sick" I surfed the web and after reading tons of sites found out it was normal for them to do that.
