Long story short, threw 4 amano's in 3 weeks ago, and not one was to be found yesterday in complete aquarium re-arranging.

But my bamboo shrimp is fine...

Do Amano shrimp need a well established aquarium? Mine is about 2-3 months established, heavily planted, with a full load of fish.

Oh my ph is low, around 6. would that harm them?

Like I said my bamboo shrimp is fine though.

I would say maybe due t the stress of being added they may be molting or just hiding. I would wait a bit. Amanos are amazing at hiding. They are more harrdy than people give them credit for IMO, as long as they are aclimatised and fed properly.

#1 rule to amano shrimp fun: COVER THE TOP OF THE TANK

They will jump out of the smallest holes in the top of the tank... I once found mine, literally, 10 ft from my tank. I'm not sure about PH for them... The tank should be cycled though.

Or if you have a Dwarf Gourami that is obnoxiously curious about your amano shrimp.

They are very good at climbing as well. I had some leap out of my tank which has perfect parameters. Scared the crap out of me. they are super super good at hiding as well as they tend to graze constantly. i would imagine they are eating biofilm off your plants and doing their job.

i scored a couple of amanos from a LFS for .50 a piece because they came in with his ghosts and he didn't have a positive ID for them... Then i went to the sister store a few towns over and they had them there for 4.50 a piece. it was sweet. haha.

Not trying to hijack the post but was wondering if the amanos do okay with RCS. i don't have them in there now, but would like too.
