So I was checking out my 125 with the lights off. I came accross this worm looking thing, but not bristle or peanut. Then I realized it was the same color as my anenome. I don't see a crab around her, but it definately seems to be one of her tenacles. It is however moving. Anybody???

No, they don't normally shed large portions of their tentacles, unless they have clownfish being too rough or something is picking at it. I'm still not entirely unconvinced that it isn't a worm, though. It may have helped to collect it and look at it more closely.

I can do that. It doesn't appear to be moving anymore this morning. It is hosted by a skunk clown and maybe he is being too rough, but he has lived there for over a year. I will check it out. I guess a crab could have snipped it, I just never see them immediately around her.

it is a type of worm. it looks like a bristle worm that has shed it's bristles. It's probably on it's way out. Thats why it on top of the sand and missing it's bristles. Anemones don't shed, even if it was an anemone tentacle it would deflate down to nothing. hope this helps.

I actually think that IS a nem tent.
I have had this happen a number of times, clowns being a little rough, or tents get twisted from flow and get pinched.
I've seen pieces from time to time even w/ healthy thriving nems.
