Careful of the cheek spines; they're razor sharp. They will also click and pop loud enough to be heard outside the tank.

By the way, nice pictures, Duckie. I haven't really given my clown loaches any snails mainly because, like you, I'm afraid I might get them sick.. snails can harbor camallanus worms and other crud..so yeah.. these camallanus guys are tough, viral, nasty little wigglers..

The white outline is normal as they grow, the black also gets a white area down the center. Look at pics of large clowns.
Thank you, I will check that out sometime. My clown loaches are not with me any more (rehomed) since my 180 gal got downsized to a 55 gal. Still have the 180, but it is now converted into salt.
