Do "exercised" fish need more food?

Ever since I got my Vortech pump, my fish swim and "surf" in the current all day long.

Is it possible to need to up the feedings or amount of food because of this?
 
Well...I never really had any current before...now they are exerting all this energy to surf around, so I thought they would need to replenish that lost energy with more food possibly.
 
I'd stay the course unless you notice them beginning to lose too much weight. Either way, basing your feeding levels on the appearance of the fish is probably your best course of action in this case.

Agreed. They will burn more calories, but they usually get more calories than they need, anyway, in most circumstances.

I'm going to have to get another one...one at full force is too much concentration for a single area, but two at opposite ends of the tank at 50-75% should do the job prime time. They are actually sending me another one because the one I have right now has some issues...so I will be able to test two at a time for a few days before I send it back after the weekend! Excitement. Want me to to let you know how the two work out for me? This should be me for a good while...:popcorn:
 
They need a smiley that is on the ground with a towel cleaning up water, because when you get 2 sync'd in short pulse mode at full speed your going to get tube on your wave.. lol. Do you have anyway of making a video to post? One with 2 Vortechs making a huge wave and one of you cleaning up the mess afterwards.. hahaha.

What size tank do you have again? I have sigs turned off so if you have it posted sorry. I was thinking you had a 4' 75G...
 
Close...I have a 72 gallon bow. I have it on the back of the tank though so it could blend in with the black background and be out of sight.
