Do flourez light add alot of heat?

hi i have a 20 Gallon tank. I just realized this morning that my water is at 29 degree ! ( i have puffers)
im not sure if its my heater going all crazy ( 100 watt Jager)
or if its the flourez light

I took a temp reading of my room and its 25 degree.. standard room temp.. and the tank itself is away from any direct/indirect sunlightl
 
It depends on how close to the water your heater is, and what the surronding air temperature is.

That's why they make coolers/chillers, although I agree - the light shouldn't be adding that much heat.

What is the kind that does do that? I think it's called Halide or something...but don't worry about that Puffer, if you had it, you'd know. Those things are like $500 for a set.
 
yeh i unplugged the heater ( its normally set at for 24degree)
and the surround air temp is 25 degree

im not too sure wat you mean by how close my heater is to the water. I have one of those heater that submerges into the water.
but thanx, i'll leave my heater unplug and see if the water temp goes down...
 
I mean your lighting. I was really just kidding around though, it shouldn't be doing that. If your air temperature is higher than your desired tank temperature, you don't even need a heater, really. If you do, only a small one.
 
My 1020 watts of lighting over my 90 keeps the tank at 80 degrees in a 68 degree room. No need to waste electricity with heaters :p
