I've had rams horn snails in a tank with goldfish. A Shubunkin loved to suck them out of the shell when it got a chance. There hasn't been a snail in the tank for a long while ....now if only I could find a similar solution for those pesky MTS
 bwahahahaha!
It depends on the goldfish - many that have been raised with snails won't bother them at all. None of my goldies ever bothered my apples, not even the babies. Goldfish are pretty smart and if they learn at a small size that they can't eat a big snail, they won't bother them. However, snails are a natural food source for all carp, so koi and goldfish that have been fed snails previously will likely try to eat even large apple snails.
