Do gouramis often sit on the bottom?

It is abnormal for gouramis to hang out on the bottom or always near the top grabbing air. Mine are all over the tank when they are healthy. Males looking to breed will hang out at the top a lot, but not the females.

Mine only go to the bottom to scrounge for food. Or steal wafers... &$&%$%

I've heard that medicated food is more effective at treating internal parasites than just adding medication to the water. I've heard some good things about Jungle medicated food.

You know, when my gouramis had IP, they wouldn't eat, so the food was useless.

What should you use when you can't get em to eat?

I don't know exactly, I've heard this too so the trick is to catch it early enough so that they are still eating.

Yup, mine are GLUTONS too! :D

They sleep near the bottom, but as others have stated, this is generally a sign of distress/illness...

OK, the LFS in Conroe gave me a dosage of Flagyl (sp?). Anyway, they said to put 5 caplets in the tank each day for 3 days. I should also mix a little bit of powder into the forzen bloodworms, refreeze them, then feed to the fish. that will get more of the meds into the fish... all the fish.

We'll see... wish me luck.
