I got a replacement Clown Loach today for the one I accidently killed... (RIP)

I inspected him, and his tank like crazy before I took him home, as I don't have a QT. I acclimated him just as normal.. Tonight i noticed that he's got a single little white dot on his side. its about half the size of a grain of salt... should i assume its ich? I've raised the temp to 83... what is recommened as the best ich med?

Best,
Evan

It would seem to me that it is ich. Loaches are notorious for being susceptible to ich.

As mentioned, make sure that you use the proper medication route. Some will say only use salt and heat in combination (carefully!) or to use meds designed for scaleless fish (carefully!). Best thing to do is do a quick bout of research and fully understand the options and make a decision.

'Course, I'm sure someone will chime in with the method they prefer, and so...I use meds, personally. You just need to make sure you're using the proper dose (maybe a little less) and that you follow instructions carefully!
