Do i have to drain my pond?

It rained last night and i got all the run off into my pond. Now it is all browna and there is dirt in there as well.

My filter is a spong filter and i have two goldfish and abot 20 something mosquito fish that i just picked up the othe day.

The pond is 90 gallons!

Will it clear up?

Do i have to drain?

If i get that thing that says it will clear the water from aquarium pharmaceiticals will that work?

Your pond should be fine in a few days. You'll just need to clean your filter. You'll probably find that you have a thin layer of clay on the bottom of the pond. It should fall into the gravel that you should have in you pond and stop being a problem. Your fish will be just fine as they are well adapted to this type of thing happening.

If you still feel like it is really dirty you can do a 1/2 water change every couple of weeks until it's sparkley again. You may want to adjust the drainage around the pond to keep the runoff to a minimum. If you are heavily fertilizing the yard around it this can lead to a deadly algae bloom in the pond.
 
Actually it is my fault when i build the pond i didn't realize that the roof hanging over would be a problem. I can't move it because there are pipes that run under the ground so it is pretty perminant.
 
If the rain is truly running off into the pond perhaps put some gutters on that section of the roof with a downspout to direct water. If it's falling off the roof onto the ground and into your pond you need to make a slight "burm" around the edges of your pond or dig around the edge making the ground slope to direct the runoff. Cleaning your filter will be the best thing to do. The dirt/mud will take a while to settle and be removed by your filter.
 
You should never have to drain a pond. Draining a pond can actually cause more harm than good. The biggest downside is you will have a algae bloom and it is also hard on the fish. One thing that works wonders is quilt batting. It is cheap and you can rinse and reuse it again. I put some where the water discharges from the filter and it catches all of the small particles the filter didn't get. It cleared up my green pond in no time.
