Do I need an airstone?

I have a 10gal tank and am running an Aqueon QuietFlow 10 filter. None of my fish seem to be gasping, but should I consider getting an airstone/bubbler? The waterfall from the filter is pushing a fair amount of bubbles into the tank as it is.

You're fine, I haven't used an airstone in any of my tanks for the past ten years.

It is not the "Bubbles into tank" that increases the oxygen. It is the surface movement. The bubbles make the surface move.

Ok, good to know. Going off of that, I've heard of some people putting one in for the fish to play with. Any feelings either way on that?

It does not hurt to add one. It does give oxygen but it also helps clean your tank. By lifting and moving the waste from the bottom of your tank to your filter intake.

I do not think fishes in general play in or with bubbles. They do not know what they are---Just another moving object to them.

In the ocean dolphin use bubbles to "herd" fish together.

Bubblers are really just aesthetics. So whatever looks good to you.

Bubbles also dissolve on their way to the surface and add O2 that way as well.
