But a really, really stupid domain name (I know, it's not yours). I know what it's emphasizing flower PETALS, but it seems like a childish play on pedophile... and how do you tell someone about this site in a casual conversation? As soon as you say it, you're going to get really bad looks and then you have to take time to spell it. (again not directing this to dbosman.... just.... it amazes me the things people do sometimes.)

But yeah, stuff builds up over time... but NOWHERE near enough in a weeks time to warrant 50% water changes. Of course it's your tank and water. It's just a huge waste of resources for no additional benefit than would be gotten with 15%/week changes.
W/C's are the most beneficial thing you can do for your tank, fauna and flora alike. i typically do 90% weekly... sometimes more than twice... sometimes back to back.
