Do I Still Need CO2???

ok thanks

If you don't need co2, you don't need ferts...

It depends on how much light you have. Anything 2 watts per gallon or higher is a must for co2. Without it you'll have stunted plants and major algae issues.

I got the worst algae growth I ever seen after I added my 2 liter diy co2 system and my fish stayed at the bottom of the tank instead of all ranges of the tank..
growth rate was about 1" per day though :grinyes:

Have you fixed your algae problem?

Not yet, I'm waiting until I get my 3M sand this week and I'm going to clean and prune everything and start from there.

All Seachem at less than half recommended dosage

I would try using the ferts at the full dose. This might help, just my 2cents.The whole planted aquarium is new to me,but having algae growth has not been an issue for me,I use seachem as well.I have a little higher wpg than you do,and pressurized CO2,maybe that might have something to do with it too.

I was doing full dose at first and then when I noticed algae starting to grow I switched to smaller dosing. Now I haven't dosed in over a week.

I think I need pressurized CO2 and not yeast CO2 to solve my problem, then I can manage how much CO2 I'm getting much better then what my yeast wants to produce.
Pressurized is probably a much cleaner form of CO2 also?

I currently have DIY CO2 for my 55 gallon tank. I am getting by just fine with two 2 liter bottles for CO2 production.
