DO NOT DUMP your aquarium plants out!

I recently visted a 67 acre lake that has 40 acres covered in Brazilian Elodea or Egeria.

This is a common coolwater aquarium plant. It is very vigorous growing in the soil or floating.

Clearly someone dumped out their pond or aquarium egeria.

DO NOT DO THIS! Even a small segment of egeria can grow and multiply.

Now this lake has thick mats of egeria everywhere but at where the creek comes in and in the deep creek channel.

They've stocked grass carp but it's not working well.

This includes boaters!
Clean your props at the ramp.

EDIT:

Also, your boat trailer axle has plants on it.. Bend down there and remove them. It will only help our waterways to take some time and stop the transfer of these plants...

Let's help stop the uneeded "choking" of our lakes and rivers.. !

Wow, nice thinkin' Joe! Would have never thought of that.

Just for the record, I am having a hard time getting used to the new name. I agree with whoever it was that told you that your "legendary" name had a ring that 125gJoe doesn't carry! I don't want to bust your chops or anything, just letting you know I really liked your old name alot. Everyone knew that name. Still love ya though, bro!

Wow!
"Legendary" ????
I'm to be so honored?? No way........ :D

I can help you with the "125" thing..
Put voice emphasis on the "g".
Maybe if I capitalized the "G"..?

Try and say this 10 to 100 times in a row:

" 125 Jeez Joe " !

When I look at the 125 galloner.. I still mumble 'jeeze' that's a big home for them Disky's... (and they're doing great..)
:D

edit:
I'm not allowed any further "upgrades" ..so the name won't change anymore. (this tank is incredible.) :)

I'm glad they are doing great. Keep up the good work!

Sorry for the hijacking!:OT:

Those of us (who used to be) from southern California are very familiar with the issue. Lake Murray, our local reservoir, was mostly drained and closed for years in the '80s because of introduced Hydrilla. I'm not sure how they finally dealt with it.

Down here someone had the "great idea" (not), to use Tilapia and possibly some other type of "carp" to control the weeds by eating them. The fish were supposed to be sterile, but they have taken over in many lakes and have almost ruined the breeding areas for largemouth Bass. It seems the Tilapia are more aggressive and run the Bass off. This is a huge problem for the recreational fishing industry here. Add more pollution to this and it's a bad situation.

Where I caught many Bass, and had many break the line, years ago, now you are lucky to have a few 'hits'.... And this is the well known Bass fishing lake called West Lake Tohopekaliga in Kissimmee, FL. :(
