Do Plants Consume GH?

Recently began adding Mg and Ca and it seems to help, also raises GH a few points. If I find that GH had dropped a bit after a few days, does this mean that the plants are using up Mg and Ca, and I should add more?
Thanks.

Plants do consume both. They consume great amounts of Mg than Ca. You can see this my monitoring the levels of GH and KH, and comparing how they fall over a given period. The GH will fall at a great rate than the KH.

Edit: that is, all other things being equal.

What does it mean when Kh also drops?

Well, many substrates and driftwood can drop KH. Plants utilize calcium, but more as a trace. It's not a big problem for KH to drop, but know that if it's dropping several degrees in a week, it's because of something else, not the plants. It's not really a big deal. Soft water is good for most plants and SA and Asian fish (where are both very popular in planted tanks).
