Do plants make the water clear?

Do aquarium plants make the aquarium water clearer? I heard one time on ***********.com that a person had a pond with just a certain plant on the ground like grass and that the water was super clear. was wondering if this works with aquariums as well.

it does, especially wiht the fast growing plants, like hornwort, water sprite, they suck all the nutrients from your water

leaving very little for algae to start growing or taking over your tank/water

Yes, plants help make the water clear for the reason stated above: consuming excess nutrients and chemically filtering the water. With faster growing plants, the water of course gets "filtered" better. This is just another reason besides looks, that plants are useful for the aquarium keeper.

However, if you have driftwood or anything staining and releasing tannins that discolor the water the plants can't help there much.

dont know, but i have no surface adgitation in my tanks, nor an air stone, my plants do all that work for me.
