do plecos do well in koi ponds?

I have read pleco's do very good in ponds as long as the temp doesnt dip to low. I think a pleco in a huge pond would rather suck on algea and the mulm in the pond and all over the rock then trying to catch a koi for its slime coat. In an aquarium space is limited along with a food source so the slime coat becomes a very likely option.

Hi cerianthus, I'll put some photos up here later then you'll see the Koi - not sure if I have photos of my plecos as they are difficult to photograph.

Just a point to make here. In general, keeping tropical fish with cold water fish is NOT advisable. AND, before attempting to keep any tropical fish in a outdoor pond, check with your local and federal laws.

IMO it's a BAD IDEA

I notice Chrism is from Thailand - his pond is tropical by default.

The pond is probably quite stable around 25C and Koi can live at those temperatures quite happily.
