i've noticed several red snails in my tank lately and i'm curious if they are pondsnails or ramshorns? when i added my only snail to the tank a long time ago it looked like a normal pondsnail with no red coloring whatsoever, but now i'm noticing from its offspring tons of snails with redish shells. i can't get any pictures yet cuz they are all hiding in my gravel, but i'm just wondering if i have pond snails or not?

without a pic its hard to say. I have pondsnails that are "reddish" but more brown. My ramshorns that are "red" are more orange. There are so many species of common snails that its certainly possible to have a red variety.

I noticed my pond snail was red yesterday. Now hes gone an empty shell :eek3: snack?

my red shelled snails are still around though.
