I don't know about you guys. But it's illegal to sell apple snails in Kentucky. I haven't had an apple snail for about 4 years now.
Pomacea diffusa/bridgesii should be legal.IDK you'd have to contact your local office but I think that the Golden Apple Snail, Pomacea canaliculata is illegal but thought that the Pomacea Bridgesii was legal in most states except for places like FL and HI...don't quote me but I am pretty sure that was how I understood it.
Check out this thread it's broken down by state http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111527
What species were yours? Only the Pomacea diffusa are legalized by the USDA for shipping without permits. Mystery snails are all apple snails but not all apple snails are mystery snails.I don't know about you guys. But it's illegal to sell apple snails in Kentucky. They sell ramshorn snail, red type , pretty cute. $1.25 per snail, not very cheap here.
http://aqualandpetsplus.com/Live%20Food,%20Infusoria.htmI saw this P. bridgesii for sale in aquabids from time to time. Does this snail work for infusoria for fry tank?
Be careful where you buy your snails. Make sure the seller doesn't sell illegal species such as Marisa cornuarietis, Asolene spixi, etc nor mistake the particular species for canas, haustrums, etc. The USDA authorities will make sure to trace all the buyers based on their records and confiscate your snails if found illegal although mystery snails are legal so these ones are unlikely to be destroyed.I could not buy any kind of apple snail here locally. But I might just buy them from Internet.
