My fire mouths ,one of them any ways is digging a hole in the back behind a decoration, actually a big decoration LOL~! She is hiding inside the decoration, not sure whats up but he is making an ice big hole. is this possibly mating? or do they ( firemouths ) just do this for the fun of it ? my other female always dug a hole and laid eggs when ever I did a big water change, ( 30% ) but she never had a male with her, and there for never babies. I put her in the big tank and put 2 very agressive firemouths into the smaller 29 gallon tank. I figured they may be to males since they both flared. though one is brighter then the other.
Here are the two who are acting weird. what do you think? mating or just being cichlids ?

A lot of cichlids dig and rearrange the tank they are in. Can you get us some better profile shots of all of them?

The one fire mouth has really reded up, the other not so much.
hey maybe to males and there best buddies not sure. just see the male ( the real red one) moving a lot of gravel earlier. I just shut the tanks down now for the night. oh and the other fish is not coming out to feed. she does dart out to get a nibble, but runs back in the decoration and hides.

hmmm...what do you mean by "shut the tanks down for the night"....? Just curious.

Okay...thats what I was hoping you meant.

:grinyes:

ok, its been several days and she is still in the bottom of the decoration, I can not see in as its turned wrong. she comes out only if she is super hungry and then darts back in after a flake or 2. he was the same way, but he did come to eat this morning . I have a tank that looks empty LOL! can I turn the decoration to see in, or will she then eat the eggs if there is any?
