OK, So I have had my ADF (formally named Eli, now re-named "Frog-Man-Stan", don't ask) for a couple weeks. I have been hand feeding him mosqueto larvee (sp??) every night b/c the little bugger won't eat anything ulness I dangle it in front of his face on a chop stick. So I have a new solution: #1) small terra cotta plate (1" diameter) and #2) frog bites. The idea: drop the frog bites onto the plate, and that way they don't get lost in the gravel or sucked into the UGF, and he can find them when he is hungry. And that way I can see what he eats, so i don't worry....I will still give him Mosqueto larvee a couple times a week...Will it work???? God I hope so... :bowing:

Yep, that'll work. Lots of people 'train' their fish to a feeding station like a bowl, plate, or seaweed clip. Once the animal figures out that food appears in that spot regularly, they'll visit it when they're hungry. Some people have their fish so well trained that they'll actually sit on the plate around feeding time, waiting for the food to arrive :D

I dunno, I tried it for two nights....Both nights the food is gone, but He seems to like sitting in the plate, so I am unsure if he is eating the food, or knocking it out... This morning, I saw a couple frog bites in the gravel...Maybe it will take some more time to train him...He doesn't seem to be very bright, he associates food with the chop stick, not the little worm at the end of it or where he is eating it, lol. Half the time he tries to eat the chop stick, not the food. O my... :duh:

I say keep at it with the tray. I've had ADF's for three years now (still a novice) and have come to the conclusion that they adapt to things like that pretty well. The one I have now won't come to surface to eat but manages fine. He actually steals the tablets I drop in for my cory's. It's pretty funny because he lays on the tablet until he's hungry.
