Do you count your fish everyday?

i count mine...but i have a few of each kind so it really isn't that hard for me. My 3 zebra danios get a bit ticky since they are so quick and look alike.

I have small tanks, so it's easy to notice if a fish is missing. I don't necessarily count them, but I do try to look at all of them daily and would notice if I didn't see one of them.

DOn't count , but do notice if some aren't around.

Normally find 'em sooner or later.

Just re-did the 20 gallon tank this last weekend-over-run with pond snails. Threw out all the plants (all had snail eggs) and put in new gravel. Saw my Clown Plec for the first time in a month-he hides good!

Do a census of sorts on the Shrimpies; have 22 of them, but have only had a high count of 15; they hide **** good!

The only fish I count are my four baby platies. I often find myself counting them to make sure they are all there without even realizing I'm doing it.

I count my fish multiple times daily O.o (except the platies, cuz I'm just gonna feed them to my other fish anyway).

Most of them are easy and obvious to count, so all it takes is a glance to spot them.

The only hard ones are 9 glass catfish in a well planted tank. I don't bother counting them since I have to look carefully to find 'em all - I just check to make sure none die.

The only other critters I have trouble with are my applesnails - and this is only because they laid eggs in a hood where I didn't spot them til they hatched. I still have no idea how many babies there were. Last count was 11 babies, but I'm never sure - especially since they blend into the gravel well, and I sometimes count a grain of gravel as a snail.

Nope...not everyday. However, like some others have said, most of my fish are recognizable so I would really notice if one went missing. My school of tetras is another story. My tank is heavily planted so I never get the same number (there are 11 total) unless I have lured them all to the surface with food. My kuhli loaches hide so well that I can go days without seeing them and I am convinced I only have 4 ottos during the day but the number grows to 5 at night and then back down to 4 by the morning. Maybe I have a vampire for an otto....

I dont have a lot of fish so it just takes a glance when they come up at feeding time to know if everyone is there. The otos are usually visible too and the clown is always in visible in/on the driftwood.

I have so many tanks, I think it would be hard to count every single fish in every single tank. I do however notice if something just doesn't look right such as in my SA cichlid tank. It is hard to miss five rather large South American cichlids.
