Do you guys check on your fish at night?

I want to believe they think I care... but I think they just think I have food.

Hey, isn't it the same thing? They'd probably notice if the delivery guy stopped coming and they all starved :silly: :grinyes:

Okay I'll be the different one, unless I hear crash or splash once lights are out I give them their private rest time.I have found that my Discus and Angels really don't like being disturbed at night.
{Ostrangeone89 I think watching you washing your fish would be a site to see how's that done?:omg: :omg: :grinyes: :grinyes:

I check on all my fish before bed and first thing when I wake up. Sometimes I sneak in with the hall light on and try to catch my pleco out and about. He always sees me and hides again. I did catch him this morning though.

The tank lights are on till about 9 at night (hey so my fish ahve skewed up daylight hours LOL, they wake up at 9 and go to sleep at 9, since their in an underground room which stays dark until I bother to wake up) But I've been out at midnight before, having suddenly woken up thinking I'd left a fish sitting in a toxic salt dip, pump/heater on when it was out of water, lid off a tank etc.

I try to avoid it though as I live on a farm and the sound of people moving about wakes all the animals up, which in turn wakes everyone else up, which generally manages to wake the rooster up, then he thinks it's dawn for some stupid reason, and well yeah you get the idea.

I'm the exact OPPOSITE, if there is a crash or splash after lights out my head goes straight under the pillow...

If there's gonna be a HUGE puddle of water and a major catastrophe I'd rather deal with it in daylight after a good nights sleep...

Of course I haven't been doing this long so that might change - but so far all the 'splashes' have been when the hob filter from the 10g has gotten a lil 'boggy' with java moss and it's flooding out the sides!!

Funny how when I threw in the java moss with no preplanning it stayed put - now I've tied it to driftwood it's all over the place

I hope I NEVER hear a "crash"!!!

And I too would like to see Ostrangeone89 busily washing fish at night!! :grinyes:

This made me laugh!

I check on my qt/small tanks whenever I walk through my living room but I leave my larger tank alone. Mainly I leave it alone because I must have some lazy fish, my tetras are all asleep almost immediately and it freaks me out to see them white and dead looking in the tank. But I can see the cories zipping all over the place no matter the time of day or night.
