Say what you will but you have more control of a manual car.

Autos are good for two things, one that can't be mentioned and the other is just cruising.

I just feel that the more you detach yourself from these functions, the further away you are (mentally) from driving that car.

If you ask me, when you're in control of a 1-3/4/5/6 ton vehicle you better be IN CONTROL and not so relaxed that you're almost half asleep. Seriously, what does auto do but give you one less thing to worry about and one more reason to relax!

You should have to wrestle with the gear stick to get it in third, the seat should be rock hard and rattling like hell, jarring your lower spine to the point that numbness takes over and the possibility of falling asleep at the wheel becomes an impossibility. The rock hard sports suspension and aggressive kick as you double clutch it down. Oh and keeping it in third so that the engine is screaming at you aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! All the way down the highway.

Ah who wouldn't miss that. lol.

only a person not in their right mind would miss something like that. :D

My car is in the shop, so I have a rental now, and absolutely hate it. (auto transmission). I was wondering why the keys wouldn't come out, then I realized that it was still in Drive. I'll take a manual any day of the week over an auto.
