Do you have a manual or Automatic transmission.

My Mustangs are manual and the wif's Navigator is an auto. Actually Lincoln has a manual auto option on the LS. It has low, drive, and overdrive but the shifter can move to the right where there are up and down arrows. The car starts off in first and you engage the shifter to the up arrow at your desired speed. The only catch is remembering to shift back down to first at a complete. The car doesn't like to start off in fifth.
prefer manual.
curently have an automatic because other than that it was the Perfect $1000 car!
if my knees crap out any further as i age i may need to stick with automatic.
Havent read the whole thread, so forgive me if its already been sed but.
someone told me, probably my father..
that everyone should know how to drive stick; what if its all thats available and ou need to take a kid to emergency room?
yeah, that sounds like my father for sure...

I agree with everybody should be able to drive a manual in case of an emergency, but I really cant think of a situation where, my car would be broken down, and there would be another car with a manual transmission, that I had the keys to, but nobody to drive it. There still may be times, if a friend has been drinking, but you havent, and they drove, stuff like that.
I am one of the few nutty people that live with out a car by choice, I places on my bicycle. But to what can I drive, I can only drive an automatic, whene ever I have tried a manual, it just will stall out on me, even if some one else starts it it will stall out when I sit in the seat.

im lazy, automatic...Had to many "situations" with a hot cup of coffee and a clutch...Drinking boxes are also a no no between the knees if you have to shift...My old car in an auto too, but it has a shift kit...
I HAVe to be automatic... i live in a huge city with traffic. Both Mustangs are auto. You know..... when I wanted the new Mach 1 I was gonna get auto too. You can't have maunual here. One of my fellow Mustangers had a manual for his car until he got stuck in traffic for a long time and was sore for days after. He was like ... never again!
When I am in traffic, I go to second gear so the trans does not have to shift up and down so much too..
