Its been a while since Ive had a freshwater tank. I remember using salt at every water change. If I use Prime, do I need to add the salt???

a couple of years ago, the common advice was to add aquarium salt with every water change.. since then.. the opinion is that salt is not necessary unless you're treating for some ailment. (or of course if you have brackish or saltwater fish... but in that case you would use marine salt.. not aquarium salt)

so basically.. no.. you dont need to add salt.

Freshwater fish should really only need freshwater. you should not need to add salt to the tank unless the species requires it.
prime is a water conditioner that dechlorinates and locks up heavy metals. it also will lock up ammonia(nh3)

: "No need for salt. Thanks for using PRIME!"

I just wanted to be the sixth person to say no need for salt. :lol

No salt ,,,,, Yes Prime ,,,,, .........:)
