Do they make any good games for PS3 yet? I think Xbox has them beat in that department.

The newer Xbox 360s have a new board that helps dissipate the heat but if you want the added security you can buy a laptop cooling pad that helps tons.

PS3 has free online where you have to pay 50$ a yr to be online with the Xbox 360.

Sports games on the PS3 are better, actually I think graphics are better on all games.

Own my 160g And i'm working on forcing it to be compatable with ps2 games lol

but for right now it works great got my favorite games and I'm waiting soooo impatiently for Gran tursimo 5 to come out so that i can make good use of my 300 dollar steering wheel.

Oh and I hate you for snagging a 60g lol

It also has the flip open media ports correct?

Oh and YES it does have better games. the only things ya'll have are the ones PS3 owners don't like such as Halo, the most redundant game on the face of the planet.

Wasn't trying to make you sound silly. Just expressing my outlook on the situation.

Also, the emotion engine isn't compatible with ALL PS2 games. Its simply an emulator, and anyone who has ever used an emulator before can tell you they are far from perfect. You will run into glitches or on occassion games just straight up don't work right with it. That was part of why I said I'd rather just have an old PS2 sitting next to my PS3 (which I do).

As for the USB ports... I've never had to charge both of my controllers at the same time. They charge fast and the charge lasts quite a long time. Also to be noted, getting an old model you are getting the old crappy controllers, not the new dual shock hotness. I think I charged my controllers about a month ago and they still have over half battery left right now (just checked).

Another thought... the first wave of PS3's had huge problems. Some overheated and fried themselves 15 mins after being taken out of the box. Could this fear be why the guy never opened his and decided to sell it? Not to scare you, just trying to make you aware. Online people can seem nice and friendly, but you never know what you are truely buying or who you are buying it from until it is in your hands. Remember after all, they are just trying to make a buck.

:grinno: Yes, I know all about the PS2 emulation and the new dual shock controller. I don't need the dual shock controller since I'll be using the arcade stick(<3 Hori real arcade pro stick 3! got it for 99.99 shipped :thm:). To be honest, I think it's all about personal preference. First-Person-Shooter folks will probably enjoy the feature.
2-Dimensional fighters really probably won't be needing it, IMO. I'm a die-hard 2-Dimensional fighting gamer =P, remember that. I'm really competitive when it comes down to King of Fighters 02' =D Iunno if you know the game.

As for the USB ports, well, IMO, the more USB ports you have, eh, the more space for stuff, honestly, you won't need to be plugging in and out, switching and swapping, that is if you have a lot of stuff that need be plugging in for USB.

The first PS3 wave, eh? Good thing I didn't go and buy one when the first PS3's came out. q: Well, looks like it may be bad for the folks who have the old 20, 40 gb PS3 models.

 I take well care of my systems, I definitely do not allow them to overheat, I give my consoles breaks to chill after playing 1-3 hours. I also dust out the system every 2-3 months. No wonder my PS2 is still working since 2002, hah! Hmm, I won't be playing the PS3 that much anyhow (perhaps every now and then) since it's time for me to register for fall semester at my college. q: No time for my PS3 to overheat now!

to heck with all these new gaming systems, i still play on the original nintendo i still have from when my parents bought it for me waaaaaay back in 1987! Go mario!!!!!!!!!

as i say to all my friends that are in love with PS3, Wii, Xbox, etc, all those controllers with all those buttons...... "A and B are good enough for me!" lol.

:) The oldest gaming system I have is the Super Nintendo, the old one with the purple and gray buttons. Still works. I loved Super Mario World, the first game I ever played, then came Super Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat II, Megaman X, Donkey kong country Diddy's adventure, and etc.

Yes, so far...

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger (New, very, very popular currently and many reviews hit 9/10-10/10)
Street Fighter IV (Big hit for the PS3, the new & old fans of Street Fighter will enjoy it)
The King of Fighters XI (New, coming out soon, may be a hit we all don't know but I would say it's a good one in the library)
Tekken 6
Final Fantasy XIII (:) Next year! It's going to be a mega hit, we all know it ;))

These titles are more than likely going to be hits for the PlayStation 3. BlazBlue is a huge hit, that I know of. A Big 2-D fighting trend going along there, it'll attract more fighters.

:) Haha! Yeah, I'm gonna love it.

PS3 do have better graphics and the single player games are very good.

I have been told that the 80GB metal gear solid PS3 I have is backward compitable, but I have not tried any old games on it. So I really don't know. I might try one out later.

As far as xbox live goes, add L33T Z0N3 1 (and it's L33T Z0N3 friends) and you can play with some of us at ELITE ZONE in Fayetteville, NC. We are a gaming center. If you are a COD4 or CODWaW player, you will find some good players.

Yes Ive always wanted a ps3 for the gaming and blue ray capabilities. The backwards compatibility is a great feature too, Chrono Trigger FTW. I have a Wii that I love, hacked as well, but I really only play Mario Kart and old school nintendo ROMs. My Wii is software hacked though, which is harder and takes a little longer but you dont have to crack it open and install a MOD chip  . I just built a new computer too so I have been playing that alot, gotta love Fallout 3 in 1080p on a 46" tv!

i think its dumb to spend that much on a video game. if you wanted to play your old games that bad than but a PS2 (which can play ps1 games) for like $60 or whatever they cost and than get a 60g ps3 for $400. congrats. you just saved a crapload of money. go have a cookie and buy new fish tanks

I pretty much have no tolerance for the older system games once the new ones come out. I always trade all the old for new stuff.
Except, i do still have a Commodore 64 lying around....
