Always, lesson learned long ago though I occaisionally risk 2 sets of new fish together in quarantine if I really can't resist. I have been sorry I've done it too.

Once in a blue moon. I don't have the room to quarantine, so if anything hits me, I'm screwed over big time. Survivor of an ich bout and ongoing intestinal worms, with the odd fish louse and fungus spot here.

I almost never QT... not because I dont believe in it but for this reason

I am a good friend of the person I get most of my fish from... and he tends to have any stock for at least a month before I buy it anyway

95% of my fish come from fishkeepers on the forums here and elsewhere i know the fish are healthy so no i dont bother to QT

Interesting. Seems like it may depend on whether you get your fish at a big box store, or from a trusted local place.

I answered most of the time. When setting up a new tank the first guys move straight into their new home. When adding to an existing tank, QT unless the source is known and trusted. No doubt I will get burned on this one someday.

Not very often. I deal with the same lfs 98% of the time, and have not had a problem with their stock. I am really careful when I am buying, checking out the all of the fish in the tank for any sickness, parasites, disease, etc. I know you are supposed to with each purchase, so I am guilty!:evil_lol: There is one time though that I was stupid and bought a plecostumus from W- - - - - t, and of course it had a small case of ick that went unnoticed, and it spread like wildfire. I treated the tank with medication, and it finally went away. I think I lost a couple of fish from it, and learned my lesson! Never again. Now, I only go to this particular lfs, and no exceptions.
