I always QT from the LFS/chain store. The last 2 purchases have been from a seller I trust on aquabid, so they went right in. :)

I buy from people on this and another forum so I just put them straight in. I haven't purchased fish from a non-forum member since I started.

I bet most of you trust the good friend you catch the flu from.

Fail to Q fish from any and all sources at your own peril.

I raise healthy fish and I will tell folks who get my fish to Q them.

For me, it all depends. I am lucky enough to have a bit of "spare" space......

If the fish is expensive, I certainly do Q. With that said, I do have a great amount of trust in the LFS I have around here.

If for some strange reason I may possessed to by from Petsmart, or somewhere similar to that, they get Q for sure. And experience has taught me that if you have to point out the type of fish and its price to your customer service rep, plan on having something wrong with it.

Always. time in qt may vary depending on source. but always QT

I almost always quarantine. There have been a few exceptions, either because I was afraid the new fish wouldn't do well being moved so often, or because I didn't stupidly didn't have space. But 98% of the time I do. I usually keep them there for 4-5 weeks before moving them to their new home.

nope not yet, but then i aquire all my fish from a common source so i guess in effect my main tanks are Q Tanks. so QT is not an issue

Always, each and every time. If I ever lose another fish it may be from this or that but it's NOT going to be because I didn't quarrantine. I used to work at an animal clinic and have done tons of dog/cat resuce. Quarrantining is 2nd nature to me.

It depends for me which tank the fish are going in, and if I am just stocking it. If so, the main tank is a QT tank. Also, if I am adding fish from the same source over a couple weeks in the same tank, I don't qt them. Now, if Im adding a new addition to my established set ups, I QT every time.
