Do you turn off filters when feeding?

try floating food. My tank as soon as i walk by out they are right at the top on the left side evertime they want some food. Because they know its going to be floating there lol.

No we don't,,we feed our's most of the common types of food out there,{pellets-flakes-brine shrimp-algee wafers ext..We do turn off our fillters during water changes though.........:)

It's too much of a nuissance to turn the filter off and prime it again after feeding. That said, my uncle used to ages ago when he had an internal filter - it really depends on if your filter is snatching up the food faster than your fish can get to it...

I leave mine running..the angels like to chase the food..the wild will sometimes lay in wait for the food to drift to them..unless they are hungry..then they rush up to the side of the tank.

I guess what the problem I have the floating flakes get sunk and scattered by the runoff of the filter. It's a 56 gallon tank, not as wide as the standard 55's you see all the time but far deeper. I think it's 33''x24''x18''.

MY pleco is gettin huge i have been feeding him blanched vegtables he is about 6 inches now and i have only had him for maybe 2 months, he is just a common and he is in a 55, and i know he will get to big but my lfs didn't have anything that stayed smaller so he told me that when he outgrows my tank i can take him back and get a smaller one (he wants to put it in his tank its about 12feet by 3 feet by 2 feet tall and has an arrowana in it)
