Twitter? Nah. I'm too busy counting my arm hairs. At least I have a life ;)

Wow.. people like you and me that remember the BBS days are far and few between now. I used to run an 8 line BBS out of my bedroom in the late 80's/early 90's called Ace's Place BBS. Lots of fun. Trade Wars anyone? ;)

Kids these days. Back then we made do with a 386 and a 300 baud modem and we were darned happy! ;)

I used to hang around a lot on a couple of LA-based BBSs back then: KBBS and another the name of which I can't recall. Sending emails across the country was a real adventure, typing in huge addresses and waiting for days for them to hop from node to node.

That's why Twitter hasn't impressed me, though I do follow a few people there: it's just a gussied up version of what I experienced 20 years ago.

My fiance told us once at dinner that she tried using twitter a while ago. At that point her brother yelled "You twittered?!!?!??!" It was quite funny.

But, no, I've never twittered.

I have an account but don't use it much. Somehow I ended up on a "graphic designers you should follow" list on somebody's blog, so now I get a couple of new followers every day. It's kinda weird, especially since I don't post much. Anyway, I'm here: http://twitter.com/meganstrickland.

I'm annoyed by people who twitter their every step, and I'm also annoyed by people who just use it to push commercials for their sites/businesses/selves. The more interesting folks twitter what they are thinking about, not what they're doing or selling.

And I agree that it isn't really anything new. We humans are communicative creatures and we'll always be inventing "new" ways to talk to each other.

The people in your life who are important enough to know what you're doing minute by minute are either with you when you do it, or important enough for a phone call or at least an email.
