Do you use aquarium salt?

You can find my answer in a couple hundred threads around here with a lot of detail, but in a nutshell. I use salt for treatment when needed, and otherwise don't expose my fish to it. It is harmful long term, and more importantly it is not necessary for anything long term so it makes no sense to risk harming my fish by using it.

salt will kill or help kill several parasites, it will block the effects of nitrite poisoning, otherwise most of it's claimed benefits are myths, and ultimately it will cause trouble in you tank of one type or another.

But I never use "aquarium salt" as I have not yet ever seen a guaranteed analysis printed on a packge of such. I do prefer to know what I am putting in my tanks.

I use pickling salt - pure NaCl, no additives - for treating ich or cleaning new tanks/decorations, but not as a 'general tonic'.
