My blue shrimp came in today also, so now I have 5g cherry tank and the 10g blue tank. I know iodine is used for their new exoskeleton when they molt, but is it necessary to add extra? If you do add it, what type do you use.

I don't dose Iodine, but Hbh crab and lobster bites have it as an igredient. I plan on getting them some of that food (as soon as I find it locally!!) to add to their meal plan.

I did use it when I had amano shrimp. They hadn't molted in the month I had them. One dose and they molted. But they were in a betta tank with little excess food. I would guess that Iodine would be had if they had more food.
