Does anyone have this issue?

So I thought this would be a nice general question...boy was I wrong...SPIDERS:eek:...ACK:eek3: I'm with mandy on the deathly afraid of them...I'm sorry to say but I will not be reading this thread again...ugh...spiders...:headshake2:

Not scorpion like spiders...spiders that eat scorpions and yes there are scorpions in GA that get in your house. I have stepped on them before... I live in Georgia and my property backs up to Army Corp of Engineers property which is basically woods and the Allatoona Lake so yeah...I do live in the woods. My house is a 5 year old dhouse on an unfinished basement and yes spiders, scorpions, lizards, ladybugs, etc do get into the cracks of the foundation and come in under the doors. When you have a house that is put up in 1 months time, you can't expect to have perfection. That just isn't how the builders put up homes these days. The tank is in my formal living room. I don't have that problem with the freshwater tank..it is on the second floor. I just assumed the salt water spray or residue had something to do with keeping that area moist and it stays dark. Of course describing it as a hairless tarantula was an exaggeration as I wouldn't have expected anyone to take that literally. However, they are big enough to make that thunk sound in the vacuum hose when they get sucked up.

Would love to see a photo if you can snap one.

I tell you what...I will set my camera on the sump cover and use the remote to snap a picture..if I get a good clear shot, then sure i will post it...if not, sorry about that but I have a touch of aratnaphobia (sp?) and feel my skin crawling and stomach turning when I hear one getting sucked into the vacuum hose. There is no way I am sticking my face anywhere under that cabinet. The usually hang out just under the rim of the top above the doors or in the back under the external pumps.

These things are big enough that you can HEAR them getting sucked into the hose? And they catch scorpions?
Move.
Move far, far away.
:D

.....hopefully they didnt get inside the water. id be more worried about that than under the cabinet. maybe there was a dead fish under there and the spiders were looking for a meal and decided that it was a pretty nice place under there.lol
