Does anyone here have the (kinda) new prius car?

My grandfather just bought his second, he seems to like them I read an article a while back though that said when you compare the carbon footprint between a Prius and a Hummer H2, the hummer is actually quite a bit cleaner due to all the engineering resources that have gone into the Prius, not to mention disposing of that huge battery.
The verdict is still out on how long those batteries will actually last as well, and how much it will be to replace them...thats going to be a big hit on the wallet, I'm sure.
I'm with jdub...turbo diesel all the way.

when i use cruise control a lot on my 2 litre diesel the mpg averages out at over 45mpg
diesel over here is currently $2.18 per litre or about $9 a gallon...couldn't afford to run a gas guzzler!

dang...I love when people around here talk about gas prices, and I think of what you guys pay in the UK...so much higher.
you don't NEED that for power. I've got the power to pass YOU while you're attempting to pass all those slowpokes, and i've got half the cylinders.
VW had qite a few jetta diesels until '06. coming back in '08 though with an extremely efficient engine. their current diesel is the Touareg 2 V10 TDI. oh yea, it gets 20 in the city.
hybrids have never really caught on with me. but then again most of them are to small for me anyway. i'd take a turbodiesel over a hybrid anyday...get better mpg anyway.
