Does anyone keep Cyrtocara Moorii with Mbuna?

Some update Pics dude. Lots of nice big caves in the rock work now that just look like black holes to the viewer of the tank. Supplemented the caves with some nice PVC pipe (you can see one in bottom right of the tank - this one was left open for the Catfish as he is quite sociable and likes to stick his head out and see the front). It's great, a fish can go in a hole on the left, dissapear and come out top right. Hopefully I haven't got too many 'closed' caves for fish to get trapped in. Ungergravel jets hidden nicely too. More open space now for the few Haps I have. Going to be adding a wavemaker soon for movement. Anyway, all good, pics:

I agree with efors sweet video even sweeter music man those are the days i grew up in man..

How's it going chaps.

Some bad and then good news on my setup.

My tank decided to leak just before Christmas. Seemed it was leaking quite a while, the cheap particle board cabinet was turning to mush I think (unknown to me). 2 days before Christmas, the leak became noticable and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

Had to rush out and buy a temporary 180L bare bones tank to rescue my fish. In the year of fish keeping I had above, I lost 1 cichlid. Since they have been in this smaller and terribly scaped temp tank, I have lost 3 fish - including my tank boss, the stunning Male Afra (reading Konings, this is not uncommon for a tank boss to get so stressed out trying to keep up his duties when moved). Another fish jumped out (no real cover, water level near the top) and one of my weaker labs bit the bullet. Very sad. But at least I didn't lose everything.

It was kind of a blessing as the tank I had was 'overpowering the room' a little in its current position so I wanted to change it up anyway. I got a good price for the leaker and ordered a new custom tank for an alcove in my house - it was really the only place I could put a tank. Sadly, the tank is now shorter but it is wider and much higher, it holds 80L more than the leaker. I know footprint is most important but I reckon I've done good to get the most amount of water I could have in this shorter alcove (it's 40"). 390L (103 US Gallons) is good for the space.

As such, I've sold a lot of my fish and cut right down. Trying to adhere to the 20" per sq ft rule, though I think there is a little leeway considering the extra water volume and my overfiltration with my new purchased (yet second hand) Eheim 2080.

There is still a few fish I need to move on and replace with smaller specimens because of tank length, but they are still growing at the moment so they are ok for a bit.

Tank arrived over a month early from custom tank maker, but luckily I already have a brick stand built in the alcove. I can't move the tank at all though, it's 12mm glass (because of the height) and even 4 strong chaps are struggling, ha. So it's not setup yet, just need to figure out how to get it on the side and I am good to go.

Sorry to hear about that my friend but cool deal on the bigger setup..
