...a plant that only grows to be about 6 inches tall? I have several stem plants, but if I wanted to keep them that height I'd be trimming daily. Thanks.

I really wanted something that looked like grass for the shorter plant side of my tank and I love it. My shrimp love it too! They hide under it and hang from it - it's really cute.

if you want a short stem plant you could look into ammania sp. 'bonsai'. it's pretty easy to grow and look really nice.

Several crypts stay short & I recently got Blyxa japonica, not for low light, but medium seems good so far

I would say UG or Ranunculus Inundatus as a couple of choices.
