Does anyone use black sand?

oo - sounguru - love the look of the oak leaves. Did they survive or did they fall apart?

Love the whole look too, btw :)

They do fall apart over time but I just add a few more in when those are gone. I hope to take some newr pics soon since it has grown in, but I have to get off my lazy buttucks first.:)

I have Oak leaves in 6 of my tanks and when I finish out the other 6 I will have them in there too. I think it gives it a more natural look plus it has benifits for the critters.

I lost a crap load of photos while i was backing up my photos onto a disc and for some dumb reason i lost almost all of them but i had a few black sand setups and was pretty cool..

All black sand is very cool looking but a pain to keep little debris out.. but will look good for you, hey go for it..

I used a mix of black, white, and crushed coral. If you're looking into it for your Mbuna tank I would say go for it! The black contrasts against Mbuna nicely.

I haven't used black sand, but I LOVE the look of it and would love to switch mine over I just think it looks sooo nice! I vote GO FOR IT!

I had it in a 30 gallon fry tank too... I had a lot of fun in this tank making a tunnel system out of black ABS.

lol. hey what exactly is black "ABS"????

:perv:That looks amazing

Ok so I found out that color quartz has a distributor that lives in the same city as one of my friends! Now to convince her I'm not crazy for asking her to pick up a bag for me lol

Just for reference's sake: I paid about $18 per $50 bag of "T" grade. I would recommend you get "T" grade and not "S" grade. "S" is too fine.

Hope that helps :)
