Does anyone use pavestone high desert play sand from Home Depot?

I found some pavestone brand high desert play sand from Home Depot does anyone have any experience with it.I want to switch a few of my tanks over to it and just wanted to get some opinions.

I want to add it is a silica sand nothing to watch out for right? besides diatoms

I've used silica based sands I haven't run into wide-scale diatom problems beyond the typical bloom at the beginning.

Well thats good to hear after seeing your dorm tank I went out and bought some white sand yours looked awesome

With my 15 gallon, I haven't seen any diatoms. I think the tank itself was established enough (bought it used) as well as the cycle being transferred from my previously existing tank. The pool sand I used, I believe played a part in the diatoms I initially saw in my 55 (used tank, transferred media). Possibly the tap water too...went away after 6 months or so anyways. But the water I am using now is about the same, and I'm guessing has more silicates. Diatoms are tricky little organisms.

I haven't seen that particular brand at Home Depot. Can you take pics of the bag when you get it?

I worked at HD this summer and never saw this brand...must be regional. I'll have to look out for it though.

How much did it cost?

I think that it was like 5.69 or something like that

Not too bad...most seem to be around the $5/50 lb. range. Can't wait to see it under water!
