Yeah, I can agree with driving, if you lived close to the border and had a major center there, but the drive from Edmonton to Montana and then to Helena is approx 600 miles and 9 hours drive, not taking into account traffic or bathroom stops. At an average price of $1.00 per liter, ($4.00 per gallon) and 30 miles per gallon average give or take is $80.00 in gas, then paying the GST at the border on the purchase of 6%, it really doesn't pay to drive from here. You would also have to pay for overnight accommodation's, who wants to drive 9 there, 9 back in one day, there would be no time for shopping! When we lived in Vancouver BC, or Ontario, we were in the US constantly, Alberta just doesn't lend itself to cross border shopping.
