Does lava rock and silica sand increase kH and TDS?

Much sand on the market is not pure silica. Southdown being one of the better examples.

er, southdown play sand? They advertise that as being aragonite sand, well thats the reason its so popular with reefers anyways.

Slip - Yup, fine for Rift, BW, and SW - not what you would want in a rainforest or dwarf cichlid setup.

boyohboy - my snails were dying, and the water was not that soft, so I took a sample into the lab and ran it on a spectrophotometer. The tank water looked more like mine run-off than rainforest.

I remember cooper and arsenic (not massive amounts, the problems were likely the cooper), only trace iron - it is hard to keep in solution in water, it precipitates out (the cooper does as well, but it is easier to keep toxic levels in solution as they are lower concentrations).

It has been years, I have no clue what the setup we were running then even was, much less what parameters were used. But it was what we used to check the parameters of the WFI and RODI and our culture media and solutions.
