I setup one of my spare 5g rubbermaid containers as a growout tank for my java fern. I also have some small snails(max 5mm) that will keep it cycled.

5G

20watt T12 GE Cool white bulb(4100k)
DIY co2, and I used a caculator to figure out my levels, and they came out to be 23ppm co2.
Adding Leaf Zone after water changes(once per week)

23ppm co2
PH 7.2
KH 11
Temp 79.9F
HOB filter with sponge over the output
Nitrate 10ppm
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0

Sounds like it'll be fine. A bulb with a higher colour temperature might work better, 4100K is quite low. I'd grab a 'plant/aquarium' bulb at Home Depot if you don't want to spend too much at the LFS for a special bulb - they're usually inexpensive, but are heavy on the red and blue ends of the spectrum (plants don't care about green) so they appear a bit purple to the human eye, but they work well for plants. I wouldn't worry too much about it though, Jerm's got a point - these things are just about bulletproof :D
