I've heard if you blend up a mushrooms or chop it into bit and put it in your tank each piece has a good chance of becoming a mushroom. Any incites on if or how this works?

Ive heard of splitting a mushroom into two halves(no clue of success rate), dont know that i would blend one up. With a little patience though, mushrooms will multiply pretty steadily. To the point where you are removing them because they take over parts of your tank.

I've heard the same thing, but I'm not exactly sure how good of an idea it is.

I had to dip a couple of rocks of mushrooms from another person's tank before putting them into mine, accidentally over-dipped them, they became very unhappy, spit out a large amount of the white filaments inside of them (in the display tank), and within 2 weeks I had baby mushrooms popping up all over the place (and the original ones all survived). I'm not saying you should intentionally try to do this, but it's pretty clear they have a strong reproductive strategy when subjected to stress on top of being generally hardy.

I have read many posts where people cut a single mushroom into 4 equal parts (4 quarters) to make 4 mushrooms, which seems like a much better plan.
