Is it possible to buy C02 equipment from Home Depot / Lowes / etc that's worth the effort?

Meaning, i see seemingly very expensive gear out there to do the job but looking items @ Home Depot / Lowes / etc, pricing seems within reach.

What would I need to buy?

With regards to the C02 container, plz assume either the mini or the standard unit is used.

One of the members had found out that Lowes sells 16-20oz co2 tanks (which are best for paintball guns/pressurized nail/staple guns) But you can probably get them for cheaper on Craigslist, there are plenty of people (atleast here in NY) whom are selling them for $10-15 a tank..

Depending on the size tank you are planning to hook this up to, a 16-20oz tank wont last you long. Therefore try searching the yellow pages for welding shops, fire extinguisher shops. Depending on the place, you will be able to work out a deal on a tank..

As far as regulators, these are harder to find local for cheap.. And even if they are used the price of them doesnt drop (unless something is wrong with it).. So try looking on ebay, theres a milwaukee regulator that comes with everything you need for around $90 shipped.
 
well if you want a diy methode, you could use a coke bottl and make CO2 out of the yeast mix, mine last me 4-6 weeks
 
the small paintball type tanks need a specific regulator, there is a center pin that must be depressed to the co2 can esape.

What co2 equipment does home Depot sell besides this portable nailgun tank?

There are numerous sources for pressurized C02 parts and equipment. Welding supply, hospital supply, beverage supply, pneumatic supply. Almost any type of high pressure regulator can be converted to work with C02. The rest is just fittings and barbs. The hardest part is the CGA320 fitting.
I still haven't found a source for male CGA320 valves so I can use fire extinguisher tanks.
