Hard to tell from the pic, but if it looks like agrian of salt on her tail then ich it probably is.
You have her separated? That is good. Use the salt treatment and if possible raise the temp to 86F. Keep her isolated for 3 weeks and all should be good.
Remeber to top off the tank with freshwater only and only add new salt when removing water from the tank.
Ich meds work fine and in a qt tank are fine. But I would avoid them in the main tank if you can. No sense medicating the other fish who aren't sick.
The salt and heat will work if given the time. But make sure to aloow the full three weeks if possible to make sure the ich is all gone and doesn't flare up again later on.
If it is a small qt tank then make sure to do lots of water changes. Daily would be best, esp if there is no filter.
yes its a small tank... very small. and no filter, My mom wants me to take it back and get it replaced because it was jsut bought, but I am a afraid of getting a replacement because it its from the same tank then the other fish could have ich too.
If one fish in the fish store has ich then chances are great that they all do. And most fish stores have central filters so the ich is probably in the other tanks as well.
This is a very good reason to have a quarentine tank and to qt all new fish before putting them in your main tank.
If you could afford it I would just have a clean bucket, an air stone and air pump and maybe some plastic plants and a cheap heater. This should cost more than 15 dollars to set up, probably cheap. Put all new fish in it for a minimum of a week and watch them well. Obviously a clear container like a cheap 5 gallon tank or even a small clear plastic tank is easier for you to view the fish in.

Given the propensity of ich to live in the gills of healthy fish, even the best LFS will sell you ich, and often from a tank that has never had visible outbreaks. The best thing to do is eradicate the ich yourself and go on with the fish you have. the big trick is never re-introducing ich into you main tank once you have killed it off. In other words proceede as you are, exchanging the fish probably won't help. and I fully agree, get a bucket an airstone or small filter and a heater. Cheap easy much healthier q-tank.
Just a thought.... I thought I kept getting ich back in my tank, I treated for ich and it would go away only to come back in a month or so.... Guess what?? it wasn't ich, it was some sort of bacterial infection that has been totally wiped out with a five day treatment of Marycin. Ich is very definite small white spots like salt, on a fish.....
