Don't Laugh, I'm still learning (IMG HEAVY)

Wow, that looks real cool.. I did the same for a cave with stones, driftwood, and lots of gravel (mine is mixed black and white also), but I have fake plants. The cave is for my BB (betta boy). There are little crevasses and a tunnel that he can hide in and swim from one end to the other. I also put a lot of gravel on top of the tunnel. I really like your fish tank. It looks awesome.....Can't wait to see what the larger tank holds in store.....

WOOHOO, just a small update but we got a free FishRFun GPS-440 fully working tank the other night.

We've just cleaned it out (threw away the old gravel) and washed everything in HOT water and then soaked it in baby sterilising solution for a few hours.

We have started it on a full fish-less cycle and during the next two weeks we'll be buying a heater unit for it, it's already sitting on the kitchen work surface and when it's fully cycled we'll be putting the minnows from our 18"x10"x10" tank in there (thus making the GPS-440 a dedicated minnow tank) so the other fish will be happier with more space :D

We also picked up a 2nd 4ft tank (for free) which will go to make the 33" tank for the left alcove so we now have all the glass we need (barring breakages) for both of the living room tanks.

Will post some pictures when there's something to look at LOL

Very nice!

Just a small update for you all...

GPS-440 - The Minnows now number 8 (we thought the tank needed a few more :naughty:) and along with the 4 Amano Shrimp we decided to put Lupin the smallest of the Loaches in there with them as Luna the larger one was bullying it too much.

18"x10"x10" - The Neon Tetra's now number 10 and they are shoaling nicely now and then, Luna the Loach has calmed down a bit (guess she didn't like Lupin) and Zane the Bristle nosed Pleco is keeping everything nice and algae free. We have noticed a very slow leak on one of the corners and are monitoring this closely, the 1st sign of a serious problem and we'll do something urgently about it.

The two 4 foot tanks we acquired (we were going to cut them down into a 33" and a 43") have now been given their final homes, my parents are taking one of them (it just needs re-sealing and testing) for their fancy goldfish "FrankenFish" who has outgrown his old tank (little sod is almost to big to turn around!) and the other is becoming a pair of 24" tanks so we can replace the current 18" and have a spare hospital/quarantine tank.

We will be buying the glass for the 33" and the 43" tanks once we have built the two cupboards in the alcoves (full WIP thread to follow I hope).
