Don't use AC whilst there is thunder around you.

Reminds we of one year during high school when the schools electrical system pretty much went into full meltdown. Fried like 50+% of the electronics in the school-dozens of computers, tvs, DVD players, etc.

Good thing he was ok

that lightning may have came in and grounded through him into the mouse back to ground that way

Sure, he THINKS he's ok now, but wait until the third arm starts growing out of his back...
Becka told me our comp got semi-fried not long ago when the power went out a few times in quick succession. It would show the windows screen like it always does, then go to a black page with multiple choices for starting up in safe mode, etc. Regardless of which option was chosen it then went to a blue error screen stating that a problem had been encountered, and windows had been shut down to prevent damage to the comp.
It cost me a litle over $200 to have windows reloaded and most of the data backed up and transferred.

$200 for a backup and windows reload? I have to start charging more...

$29 diagnostic/bench fee, $100 for windows reload, $79 to backup and migrate files. I dropped the comp off on Monday, and it was finished Thursday. Still no idea what caused the problem to start with...
