Double Filtered Water, Shrimp Style

i saw a bamboo shrimp in petland today and REALLY wanted to get it, but it was 12.99 and i haven't read anything about them. yours is beautiful!

Yeah, they are super cool looking! They are usually really dull at pet shops, and color up in a few weeks in a real tank.
They are not too demanding. They need at least 20 gallons, as they need a decent volume of water to filter from.
Also, the tank should be mature, but I'll admit I broke that rule, lol. I figured my tank was still better than the store tank he was in. But, ideally, the tank should be at least 6 months old.
You don't need to feed them, they'll just filter food out of the water, and often times trying to target feed them will just make a mess in the tank.
I do think mine enjoys it when I feed microworms those, as some undoubtedly get caught in the water current.
12.99 is about average. I've seen them range from 8 to 15. I got mine for 11.99.
Thank you for the info! My 55 gallon could definitely use one of these big beauties haha. The only thing i might have to do is move one of the filters by the tall driftwood to give him a place up high to sit and get some good current action

i got mine for 1.99 lol i actualy bouth the entire tank, a male and a female. male died after his first molting two month later.
