Down & Dirty Shopping Guide for Your First SW Tank

I agree with you on the tank size, in fact chose my first tank as a 55 for that reason. but since there are several here that tried a nano successfully for their first tank I left it open.

I should have added the line "patience and research are a hobbyist's main tools from the start", couldn't agree more.

I forgot all about Miracle Mud. Actually, let me ammend that to I thought it was only used in a refugium. I'd like to hear more if you have the time.

The man you want to speak with on that is Mr.Firemouth for I readied often in other threads and links on this Miracle Mud and most times not even given it a second thought. For as well in the ref tanks I keep before now are to me considered far easier then doing these tanks as SPS corals. Here I will have the Miracle Mud in the fug and from what I learned from Mr.Firemouth in my threads on SPS coral questions, if I couldn't do this in the fug, I would then need to remove the sandbed to place at the very bottom a one inch Miracle Mud bed and the aragonite sand on top>

Sticky potential maybe???? I know it answers a ton of questions that many people ask about at first.....just thowing that out there.

With regards to being a sticky, it all depends on how it pans out, as already there are a varied opinions and ideas...This then makes it sorta difficult for a newbie to read and take on board...If you browse through the Newbie section, find 5 new setup's of similar size and compare the way they are setup, there is only going to be a couple of common things between them all....

As i said though, i shall keep an eye on it, see where it ends up...

Good work so far on this peeps...
