For a 10 gallon tank you could go with a crypt or 2 in the background. A bronze colored one or 2 could add some depth and the contrast with what green plants you have would be nice I think.

Yes, it is a Rapids Mini canister filter. I know others have complained about it, but I like it a lot. Relatively mild flow so it doesn't dissapate too much CO2 (or create a current too fast for the tetras), and it's as silent as death. The ony down side is that it's a hassle to take off and clean -- you have to take the entire thing out, including the intake tube and spray bar. Mkes me miss my Rena XP, but that would be overkill on a 10 gallon.
